CHAMPION'S
QUEST
Gregory Moss’s (562-799-9184) daughter is partly
the reason for him opening the business he runs today.
She was a very talented tennis player, who was offered
a contract to train with a pro tennis coach. He was crushed
when his daughter told him that she just wanted to go
to school and enjoy growing up. That’s when he realized
that he had been pushing his daughter for himself and
not for her. To get Champion’s Quest started Gregory
tapped his bank account of $60,000 and created a business
that has become a special part of the community. The business
focuses on training young athletes for improvement in
their chose sport by implementing positive-mental and
extensive physical conditioning. The priority is to change
kid’s attitudes and teach them hat they are all
champions through the journey’s they take not the
trophies they win. The business currently grosses about
$350,000 per year and has been infused with cash from
a new group of investors who plan to increase the amount
of locations up to 25-50.

THE DURAN GROUP
Opening a sports related company was always a dream for
Tony Duran (800-299-8744). Tony knew he wanted to be in
sports and continuously worked for companies that were
directly involved with golf. Through his experience selling
golf equipment for the various companies, he found his
footing and learned on his own how to sell and consult
with clients. This lead to his vision of having his own
company that would deal with sports related companies
that needed support in marketing their products and with
their business infrastructure. He started The Duran Group
in his home while keeping his full-time job and then the
company just quickly learned its way around the market
and became a leader in the sports business. Today the
Duran Group is considered one of the largest sales and
consulting firms in the sports industry. They employ seventeen
full-time consultants and staff, as well as contract over
63 independent field representatives. Sales for the company
last year exceed the $5 million mark. In fact, he says
this year has been his best in business and he is expecting
between $6 and $7 million in revenues – 40% more
that last year.
